Production of AkoFeed feed fats

AkoFeed feed fats are made of vegetable fats and fatty acids, according to recipes that are tailored to the technical demands of our customers and the nutritional needs of their animals.

The liquid AkoFeed products are composed from selected and quality-controlled fat raw materials in line with these recipes. The blend is analysed to make sure it fulfils specifications, and is then filtered. Antioxidants are added to prolong shelf life and prevent the fatty acids from oxidating. The liquid AkoFeed products are pumpable at some 50ºC.

The solid AkoFeed product, calcium fat, is manufactured by combining selected vegetable fatty acids and calcium with a saponified fat with an 85 pct fat content. After saponification the product is slowly cooled, then ground and bolted.

The solid AkoFeed product, Gigant, is manufactured by selected saturated vegetable fatty acids. After blending the product is cooled, then gorund and bolted.
